The formulas

°F = °C × 9/5 + 32

°C = (°F − 32) × 5/9

K = °C + 273.15

Quick estimate from Fahrenheit: subtract 30 and halve. 80 °F → 50 → 25 °C (exact: 26.7 °C). At −40 both scales show the same number.

Good to know

Body temperature: 37 °C is 98.6 °F; a fever starts at about 38 °C (100.4 °F). Oven: 350 °F is about 177 °C, 400 °F about 204 °C. Fan ovens usually need about 20 °C (35 °F) less than conventional settings. Kelvin has no degree sign and starts at absolute zero, −273.15 °C.
