Good to know
Never convert area with a length factor: 10 ft is 3.05 m, but 10 ft² is only 0.93 m². A hectare is a square of 100 × 100 m, roughly 1.4 soccer pitches. A square mile is exactly 640 acres. Home listings in the US use square feet, most other countries square meters: a 1,500 ft² apartment is about 139 m².
