How to make random teams
- Paste or type the names, one per line.
- Choose Number of teams or People per team and enter the number.
- Press Make teams. Press it again for a new draw, or copy the result into a chat.
Balanced and fair
Every result comes from crypto.getRandomValues, the cryptographic random generator built into your browser. Each entry has exactly the same chance, and nothing is decided in advance or on a server.
The list is shuffled and dealt out like cards, so team sizes never differ by more than one. With 13 players and 3 teams you get 5, 4 and 4.
Frequently asked questions
Is my list stored?
Only in this browser, so it is still there next time. It is never sent anywhere.
Can I keep certain people apart?
Not automatically. Draw again until you are happy, or split those people across lists.
How many names can I enter?
As many as you like; hundreds work without problems.
